Avinashi Lingeswarar Temple, Coimbatore
Avinasi is a very old town, located in northwest of Tamilnadu. It is located between Coimbatore and Tiruppur towns on the Chennai-Kochi National Highway 47. It is part of the Kongu region (Kongunadu) which includes Coimbatore, Periyar, Salem, Dharmapuri districts.
The history of Kongunadu dates back to 8th century AD. This region was under the rule of Cheras, Chola, Pandiyas and later Kongu Cholas, Kongu
Pandiyar, Housalyars and Mysore kings. As per historical records, this town was build when the Kongunaadu was under the rule of King Karikala Chola. Avinasi was also known as Thiruppukoliyur. It is said that when Lord Shiva performed Agnidandav(the dance of fire), the heavenly gods and goddesses were scared and took refuge in this place. Now, the place around the temple is known as Avinasi and Thiruppukoliyur lies to the south of the temple. Avinasi temple finds its name in the Devaram songs (songs sung in praise of Lord Siva)

Avinasi is located at about 41 km from Coimbatore in the NH47 and 15 kms from Tiruppur.
Nearest railway station is Tiruppur and the nearest Airport is at Coimbatore.
There frequent buses from Coimbatore and Tiruppur to Avinasi.
Temple Timings:
Temple remains open from 5:00 a.m to 12 noon and from 4:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m.

Arulmigu Eachanari Vinayagar Thirukovil - Eachanari
Vinayaga symbolises Ohm Pranav manthara is a presiding deity of this temple, and this temple is situated 10km away from Coimbatore to Pollachi enroute. The Moolavar of this temple is actually made for the installation at Perur, Arulmighu Patteswarar Temple and since the cart carrying Moolavar struckdown at this place from Madurai and Eachanari become the blessed place of Lord Vinayaga. Hence the Vinayagar in this place is called as “Eachanari Vinayagar” One of the famous Vinayaga of whole Tamilnadu.
By worshiping Lord Vinayaga our deeds are fulfilled and vows answered misfortune vanishes, and our past karmas purified success follows: words honoured wealth secured long life will be attained. Hence, even devas who are immortal would also pray Lord Vinayaga to seek his blessings.
This is the temple where devotees invariable of caste and creed, poor and rich come and worship to seek the blessings of Lord Vinayaga. Whenever a new vehicle is purchased people from other religion also come and perform pooja before it is taken on road. It is also believed and experienced that by worshiping Eachanari Vinayaga, that day happens to be a day of success and joyful. The experience felt by regular devotees of this temple.
It is to be noted here Moolavar of this temple is of big size and placed in such a way he can be prayed from all side even while travelling on bus, lorries, cars, and on two-wheelers, since the temple is located at Pollachi to Coimbatore main road.
